Stampin’Up!

Hello there and Happy Monday :)

We had a weekend away in London celebrating my BIL’s 40 th Birthday and it was just the best, I love family time. My plan was to blog every day and it wasn’t  until I got there on Friday that I realised all my photographs were on my laptop and not on the Ipad which I took with me :(. So I had another unplanned blog sabbatical.

Not to worry here I am sharing a sneal peek of another of the FREE SAB choices this year. It is a stamp set called Petal Parade and I have used it on this card to showcase how easy it to create your own designer paper look with just ink and stamps. It is hard to believe when you see this card in real life that it is stamped rather than printed. Stampin'Up! stamps combined with their ink pads are THAT GOOD !!!

Stampin'Up Petal Parade_ The colours used match a set of papers also a FREE product with qualifying purchase, called Sweet Sorbet.

The colours are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool party and Summer Starfruit.

Here’s a little close up

Stampin'Up Petal Parade close

I love using a little punched out shape out of some glimmer paper underneath my clear buttons, it really makes them sparkle. The sentiment from the Oh Hello stamp set and the fun coloured thick twine is yet another FREEBIE>

Cannot wait for tomorrow when we can finally reveal the full choice of SAB goodies :)

Thank you for your visit see you again tomorrow FOR SURE *wink*

Happy 40th

Hello there,

I am back and this time I want to share with you a quick card I made for my BIL yesterday. Tomorrow he is celebrating a big milestone and I can share his card as I am pretty sure he never reads my blog :)

Stampin'Up Simply Stars by Monica Gale inside

Everyone needs a star set just like everyone needs a love heart set, to  me these are sets that come in handy and you can never go wrong with a star for a man’s card.

I used the Simply Stars set with a fab sentiment again this sentiment is perfect for a masculine project as it allows to add interest with more than one colour an effect achieved by inking the stamp with our fabulous markers.

The 40 are some leftovers from my past scrapbooking days, my set of dies are lend to one of my team so I needed something quick. They were white and I simply ran my pumpkin pie marker over them.

This card took minutes and while its not the world’s most complex its perfect for my BIL he is a less is more type of guy.

Thank you for you visit I hope your week is a bright one :)

Stampin Up Banner Blast SAB card by Monica Gale

I reckon these new products will probably be one of the most requested freebies this year. A sweet stamp set with a matching punch, I know banners have been popular for a few years now but the trend is definitely not over yet they are still more popular than  ever. I love the ease of this set and you will too I am sure.

For this card I tried something a little bit different. I created a window with the deco label framelits and I arranged the flags to span across the front of the card and some inside the frame.

The background was created using a dauber and some pool party ink. The cute coloured thick twine is also a SAB freebie :) you will not know what to choose first I am telling you :)

And here’s a close up of the inside

Back at it …

Hello and Happy New year to you all.

I started back at work yesterday after what was the most wonderful relaxing break.

I took the opportunity of as many pj’s days as I could, we entertained lots of friends and family and it was just the best. Sadly no Luca at our home this year as they decided to go back to Romania for Christmas :) we still saw them over Skype it wasn’t the same but it was better than nothing.

The decs all came down on Saturday, it took me half the time to take everything down it just shows how much fiddling about I do when they go up.
I certainly want to thank you for your wonderful comments about our decked home, I received lots of emails, blog and facebook comments with lots of questions about our decor. Surprisingly decorating for Christmas only takes me a full day(usually on a Sunday in my pj’s listening to festive music). Pete is in charge of feeding/watering me and making sure I don’t break my neck on the many boxes strewn about the place :)

And I told you all about the magic tree we bought this year. Well I have a further story for you about the tree. When we bought it, I noticed the company had a competition for the best dressed tree. If you won, you would get the cost of your tree back.

Well last week we got a phone call from the company owner to say that we were the lucky winners of the competition :) woohooo I am so chuffed no least because I won’t have to listen to Pete for the next umpteen years complaining about how we paid such a ridiculous amount of money for THE TREE :).

I have to say I was sad to see him go in the loft and he didn’t look so good anymore :(

tree mummy

I was also dreading the place being covered in lots of snow but after wrapping him carefully in old dust sheets not much mess was created.

Now for something creative I completely ran out of time last year to show you the Christmas ornaments I made for my team this year.

If you are an old and faithful reader of my blog you will know that every year I send out an ornament for each of my direct team member.

This year I made these gorgeous angels

Angel made with Stampin'Up! muslin bags and burlap

They were made entirely with Stampin'Up! products (minus the head)  and they turned out so cute. Muslin bags for bodies and arms and the hair was made from our wonderful burlap ribbon.

They don’t take long at all to make, however I had to make over 80 of them so it felt like forever :), but I like to think of the girls in years to come pulling out this Christmas dec and think Oh yeah I remember, Monica made it for me one year :)

The heads were made out of wooden balls

And the word love cut out of yummy champagne glimmer paper was a wonderful effort by my sweet friend Carol, she helped me a lot by cutting these out for me :)
